๐Ÿช Telegram Business

A bot made with ModularBot can be used as chatbot to manage a Telegram Business account.

A single bot created with ModularBot will only be able to manage a single Telegram Business account, i.e. that of the owner of the bot itself.

If you use the bot to manage Telegram Business chats, that bot cannot be used normally by users. It is necessary to create a specific bot to use it exclusively in this mode.

Advantages

  • You will be able to manage your customer support through a "real" Telegram account and not through a bot (as you would normally do with ModularBot for example), so it may seem more natural to your customers to write to another user rather than to a bot.

  • Even though users don't write to the bot, the bot will manage your chats and therefore the bot will automatically respond (through your account) to incoming messages based on specific keywords that you set. Automatic replies can also include buttons!

  • Even with this mode, you can choose to receive user messages either in the private chat between you and your bot or in a topic group. In both cases, users' messages will always be backed up: even if they modify or delete them, you will always have an original copy available.

  • You can allow other users to reply to your customers, without giving them directly access to your account and therefore always having maximum control over who can receive and reply to your customers.

  • You can use Templates to quickly reply to users and Templates can also contain buttons!

Disadvantages

  • Due to Telegram's limitation itโ€™s possible to reply to users (through the bot) within 24 hours of their last message sent.

  • Due to the 24 hour limit, the Broadcast function cannot be used.

  • Users who have received spam restrictions on Telegram (which in some cases may be unfair) cannot write to you on a normal Business account. On the other hand, if you use a bot to provide support, all Telegram users could write to you.

  • Again due to some limits imposed by Telegram, other functions of the bot may not be available.

How to setup it

To use this feature you must have purchased at least the ModularBot ๐Ÿ”ดBASIC plan and Telegram Premium.

To set up a bot in this mode you firsty need to have already created a bot via BotFather and activated it on ModularBot, with the standard procedure.

Then go again to BotFather, send command /mybots and select your bot from the list.

Press the โ€œBot settingsโ€ buttons, then โ€œBusiness modeโ€ button and finally โ€œTurn onโ€.

Now you need to go to your โ€œTelegram Businessโ€ suite, from Telegram settings panel:

Select the โ€œChatbotsโ€ function:

Now write in the box your bot username (and select it if needed).

Make sure also to enable the โ€œReply to Messagesโ€ option.

If you have carried out the procedure correctly, you will receive this message from your bot:

From that moment the bot will be in Telegram Business mode and it will manage your chats, with the methods configured by the bot's settings.

How to disable it

To disable that mode, simply go to your โ€œTelegram Businessโ€ suite, from Telegram settings.

Then go to the โ€œChatbotsโ€ panel and click the โœ–๏ธ button next to the bot's name.
